Normative Achilles Tendon Ultrasound Measures to Inform Clinical Care

This study aims to establish normative values for thickness and cross-sectional area (CSA), microvascular flow states, power Doppler flow states, and Young’s moduli in the lower leg muscles and Achilles tendon relevant to Achilles tendinopathy, CECS, and plantar fasciitis. This data will be specific to the Samsung RS85 which will be utilized to obtain the SWE, microvascular flow, and power Doppler flow states. The outcomes of this study will support another proposal within MIRROR to validate SWE and microvascular flow as a novel, sensitive, and non-invasive means of determining the health and recovery state of the structures involved.
